The Chase & District Museum & Archives is open year-round, with Summer hours and Winter hours. From April 1st to October 11th the Museum is open Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10:00am - 5:00pm. From October 12th to March 31st the Museum is open Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 10:00am - 4:00pm.

These hours can change so make sure you check our home page or Facebook page for the most up-to-date schedule. Or you can email or phone us!

What is the admission cost?

Admission is by donation! We can accept cash, debit, or credit payments.

Do you have a parking lot?

We do not have a parking lot but there is free street parking in front of the building and across the street (parallel parking). There is a single handicapped stall with a curb cut to access the sidewalk. There is also additional street parking in the downtown area, which is about a five minute walk away.

Do you have a public washroom?

Yes, we have a single stall public washroom, which is wheelchair accessible but does not have an automatic door.

Do you have a gift shop?

Yes, we have a gift shop inside the main Museum building. All the inventory comes from local artisans and authors or is made by the Museum. Click here to find out about the artisans!

Is the Museum accessible?

The Museum is a single-story building with level floors throughout, including access to the washroom. Wide walkways are maintained throughout the exhibits. There are smooth concrete pathways along the length of the property which lead right to the front and side exit doors. The entry and exit doors are not automatic.

The historic cabin and outdoor fire cart display do not have pathways. The interior of the historic cabin is only accessible by stairs but there is a QR code that can be scanned to view the interior and signage. (or click here)

What is your animal policy?

No pets are permitted inside the main building or historic cabin, only service animals are permitted. You are more than welcome to enjoy the property outside with your pets though! Just make sure you clean up after them!

When is the historic cabin open?

The historic cabin is only open during Spring and Summer and closed during Fall and Winter. It usually opens in mid-April and we close it for the year in October. There is a QR code near the front door of the cabin which can be scanned to view the interior and signage during the closed season (or click here).

Can I book a tour?

Small groups and solo individuals are not required to book a visit in advance. The main building is designed for visitors to be self-guided through the displays and a guide is not necessary. However, an employee is always available to answer questions and may give an unofficial tour if asked (depending on availability). If you are coming to do research or want to guarantee a visit, we suggest contacting us in advance to avoid disappointment.

Can I bring a large group with me?

Large groups are welcome but we ask that you contact us in advance to ensure that we can host you.

School classes, daycares, summer camps, clubs, societies, and other organizations are also welcome but again we ask that you contact us in advance to book a visit. Please have ready; the number of people (approximate is okay), the time, and date that you are interested in when contacting us.
